Steve Burns

Chief Executive Officer

Steve Burns serves as the Founder and CEO of Lordstown Motor Corporation in Lordstown, Ohio where his team is resurrecting the former General Motors assembly plant to build the state-of-the-art, all-electric Endurance™ pickup truck. Mr. Burns is a serial entrepreneur with a background rooted in technology and electric mobility.

Previously, Burns served as the Founder and CEO of Workhorse Group, Inc. During his tenure at Workhorse, Steve led the innovation team that produced groundbreaking electric mobility inventions, including the NGen™ all-electric step van - a prototype electric postal truck for the U.S. Post Office, the HorseFly™ drone based package delivery system, the Surefly two person electric VTOL, and the Metron fleet-tracking telematics system.

Prior to Workhorse, Mr. Burns has founded, grown, and sold several successful tech startups: iTookThisOnMyPhone: a mobile photo and video-sharing company (sold in 2007), MobileVoiceControl: the first full speech recognition system for smartphones (sold to Nuance Communications, Inc. in 2006), AskMeNow: a mobile search and information delivery system (sold to OTC:AKMN), Pocketscript: the first mobile electronic medical prescription system in the U.S. (sold to NASDAQ:ZIXI), and Adlink: an electronic advertising system (sold to Gannett Corp NASDAQ:GCI). Additionally, Burns designed and developed a Vehicle Suspension Parameter Measurement Machine for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
